Equipping African Universities to accelerate climate resilience in food systems

Our project aims to strengthen post-graduate training on agriculture, climate change, and innovation at African universities. Our mission is to equip young scientists with the tools and methods needed to assess and innovate farming systems in the context of climate change.

Hands-on learning

In collaboration with Makerere University in Uganda and Université Felix Houphouet Boigny in Ivory Coast, we design and deliver two training modules focusing on the “Dynamics of Change and Innovation within Farming Systems.” iCRA facilitates a hands-on learning approach, involving fieldwork and practical exercises. Participants engage in farming systems analysis, participatory mapping, and group discussions to identify climate change adaptation and innovation options. Our collaborative method ensures the curriculum is tailored to the specific needs of learners, fostering impactful learning experiences.

Driving climate resilience and innovation

This initiative aims to enhance the expertise of young scientists. By jointly designing a training we prepare them to tackle climate change challenges in agriculture and identify opportunities to adapt farming systems.
