Strengthening Agribusiness Relationships in Benin

Our role in the AcceSS project was to equip agribusiness advisors with the knowledge and techniques needed to foster robust and inclusive agribusiness relationships. The role of agribusiness advisors is evolving, requiring a blend of technical and interpersonal skills to connect farmers with market actors, financial service providers, and other key stakeholders. Through practical and interactive training sessions, participants learnt to facilitate and coach inclusive agribusiness partnerships.

Introducing Making Agribusiness Work

iCRA developed a comprehensive, tailor-made training program based on our tried-and-tested course ‘Making Agribusiness Work’. The program consisted of eight modules, from which two were selected for a four-day in-person training in Cotonou, Benin. The modules cover essential topics such as value chain analysis, market demand responsiveness, competition and coordination in agribusiness, and innovative business support services. Participants engaged in field excursions and interviews with agribusiness actors, followed by analysis sessions to identify areas for collaboration and innovation. Our hands-on approach to training ensures that participants gain practical experience and leave ready to guide successful agribusiness clusters.

Promoting sustainable and inclusive agribusiness

This initiative aimed to enhance the delivery and expertise of agribusiness advisors, contributing to the sustainable development of agribusiness in Burkina Faso. By promoting inclusive and commercially viable business relationships, we drive agricultural productivity, sustainability, and rural development.
