Preparing future agri-food entrepreneurs in Tunisia

Our project with AVFA and TVET Ben Arous aims to transform vocational education in Tunisia’s agricultural sector. Our mission is to ensure young people are equipped with practical skills and prepared for the labor market, supporting agri-educators in nurturing successful entrepreneurs.

Introducing interactive education

In collaboration with Delphy, we integrated climate-smart agriculture, water efficiency, and entrepreneurial skills into the curriculum. iCRA’s role was to transform traditional teaching methods into a dynamic, interactive, and practice-based learning environment. We introduced educators to innovative teaching methodologies and supported them in building students’ entrepreneurial skills. By guiding a curriculum review, we incorporated essential life skills like negotiation, teamwork, and communication. Through field visits to relevant employers, we enabled participants to build relationships with the private sector and identify key skills graduates need.

Promoting sustainable agriculture and employment

This initiative improved teachers’ delivery and enhanced their expertise. Educators were trained on innovative agricultural practices and interactive teaching techniques. As a result, students are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in the agricultural sector, promoting both employment and entrepreneurship. Additionally, the adoption of climate-smart and water-efficient practices is contributing to sustainable agricultural growth in Tunisia. This project addresses the high unemployment rates among Tunisian youth by aligning vocational training with market needs. By fostering international partnerships and elevating the quality of education, we aim to drive agricultural productivity, sustainability, and rural development. Our holistic approach ensures that graduates are not only job-ready but also capable of leading innovation and growth in Tunisia’s agricultural sector.
