Who is this course designed for?
This course is for agri-food and development professionals in a leadership role. For example, those supervising at least 5-10 team members within an NGOs, private service-provider companies, or project organizations. As we know people in leadership positions are often very busy, our program is short, flexible and highly effective. Participants should be highly committed and be willing to invest 6-8 hours per week (during five weeks).
What’s included in this course?
Making Leadership Work is an interactive, online program. When your course begins, you will be invited our online learning environment ‘Learningstone’. You will also join a Whatsapp group dedicated to your cohort. Each week you will explore a module online at your own pace. You will learn new concepts through short texts, audio content and videos. Exercises enable you practice what you learn and receive feedback from your trainers and peers. We organize five weekly, interactive online sessions. There our trainers will guide you to start applying new skills to your professional life, and you will share experiences with your peers
Starting date is January 27 2025 with online preparations. The course includes five interactive sessions of 2 hours each, on Thursday afternoons: January 30, February 6, 13, 20 and 27, 2025.
We want to encourage in-country NGO’s, local SME’s and private service providers to apply. Therefor we offer a € 400 discount on the tuition fee of € 947.
The Program
Block 1: Creating a Positive Working Culture
Learn to implement the four pillars of a positive working environment to foster a team committed to each other and the organization’s purpose. Develop strategies to build a strong, cohesive team atmosphere.
Block 2: Managing Individual Staff Members
Master adapting your leadership style to the specific task, skill set, and motivation levels of your employees. Learn techniques for effective staff management that promotes growth and dedication.
Block 3: Addressing Underperformance
Gain skills to address underperformance constructively, maintaining strong relationships with employees. Develop strategies to handle performance issues positively and effectively.
Block 4: Self-Inquiry and Personal Growth
Engage in self-inquiry to overcome personal challenges and stressors. Learn to deal with negative thoughts and beliefs, and become an inspirational role model for your team.
