Innovative training methods for education on the water-food nexus and climate-smart agriculture

Our project with the Center of Excellence for Sustainability (CoES) at Ain Shams University aims to revolutionize agricultural and water management education in Egypt. The goal is to equip university staff and students with cutting-edge climate-smart agriculture and sustainable water management techniques. We support university staff to deliver practice-based learning supported by strong partnerships with the labor market.

Innovative Training and Capacity Building

In collaboration with Delphy, we designed an intensive training program  cover climate-smart agriculture, water efficiency, protected cultivation, plant protection, and practice-based learning. Training sessions blend theoretical knowledge with hands-on practice. By enhancing practical teaching skills and introducing interdisciplinary learning methods, we prepare educators to integrate sustainability into their curricula. The program includes field visits, study tours, and workshops to reinforce learning and foster real-world application.

Promoting Sustainable Practices and Employment

This initiative boosts the expertise of Ain Shams University staff, enabling them to deliver high-quality education on sustainable agricultural practices. As a result, students are better equipped to address Egypt’s agricultural challenges, promoting both employment and entrepreneurship. The project’s holistic approach integrates gender equality and inclusion, ensuring broad-based benefits for all stakeholders. By fostering long-term partnerships and enhancing local capacities, we aim to drive sustainable agricultural development and resilience in Egypt.
