Opening Ceremony
Our session was a captivating exploration of trust with keynote speakers Brenda Mareri Wasafiri and Riti Hermans. We celebrated with music and discovered iCRA’s vision for a thriving community.

During this session we encouraged all participants to connect in meaningful and joyful ways, and to dive into the topic of trust straight away. We had the honor of welcoming not one but two keynote speakers: Brenda Mareri Wasafiri and Dean of the African Food Fellowship in Kenya, and Riti Hermans, Wageningen University and lead of the Food Systems Leadership Programme. Brenda and Riti shared their key insights about the role of trust in their community of agriculture leaders and pioneers. They managed to demystify what it takes to grow trust in the context of true food systems transformation.
We also were connected in musical celebration by the amazingly talented singer and composer Nick Demeris.
The opening ceremony was wrapped up by iCRA Director Mariëtte Gross. She shared how iCRA intends to grow and water the iCRA community, and the role iCRA aims to play as facilitator in trustful collaboration. With that, she opened the floor for skill-sharing workshops and inspiring speakers to nourish iCRA’s community like the trunk of a tree supports its canopy, helping us flourish and bear rich fruits!
The plenary session was facilitated by moderator and social entrepreneur Lynn Zebeda.

Notre session a été une exploration captivante de la confiance avec les orateurs Brenda Mareri Wasafiri et Riti Hermans. Nous avons fait la fête en musique et découvert la vision de l’iCRA pour une communauté prospère.

Au cours de cette session, nous avons encouragé tous les participants à se connecter de manière significative et joyeuse, et à se plonger immédiatement dans le thème de la confiance. Nous avons eu l’honneur d’accueillir non pas un mais deux orateurs principaux : Brenda Mareri Wasafiri, doyenne de l’African Food Fellowship au Kenya, et Riti Hermans, de l’Université de Wageningen et responsable du Food Systems Leadership Programme. Brenda et Riti ont partagé leurs idées clés sur le rôle de la confiance dans leur communauté de leaders et de pionniers de l’agriculture. Ils ont réussi à démystifier ce qu’il faut pour développer la confiance dans le contexte d’une véritable transformation des systèmes alimentaires.
Le chanteur et compositeur Nick Demeris, au talent incroyable, nous a également fait participer à une célébration musicale.
La cérémonie d’ouverture a été clôturée par Mariëtte Gross, directrice de l’iCRA. Elle a expliqué comment l’iCRA entendait développer et alimenter sa communauté, et le rôle qu’elle entendait jouer en tant que facilitateur d’une collaboration confiante. Sur ce, elle a ouvert la voie à des ateliers de partage de compétences et à des intervenants inspirants pour nourrir la communauté d’iCRA comme le tronc d’un arbre soutient sa canopée, nous aidant ainsi à nous épanouir et à porter de riches fruits !

Closing Celebration
In our closing celebration, we all came together to chart our contribution towards a hunger-free world. We had a dynamic finale filled with music, inspiration, and meaningful discussions, expertly moderated by Lynn Zebeda.

In this last session we will connect all participants one more time, in a way that helps each of us forward after the conference.
What will you do to grow trust in your personal endeavors to develop food and agribusiness in your community and create a world free of hunger by 2030? What is your ask to the iCRA community to help you ahead? These questions and more will guide us in the closing ceremony.
We will not only be uplifted by insights, but we will create, improvise and celebrate with original music too, lead by singer and composer Nick Demeris.You don’t want to miss this!

Lors de notre célébration de clôture, nous nous sommes tous réunis pour définir notre contribution à un monde libéré de la faim. Nous avons eu une finale dynamique, remplie de musique, d’inspiration et de discussions significatives, animée de manière experte par Lynn Zebeda.
