Meet Lauren

Lauren is a dynamic member of the iCRA family whose passion for learning and commitment to making a difference really shines through in everything she does. With a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences, specializing in Environmental Science and Sustainable Development from the University College Maastricht, and a Master’s degree in Sustainability Science, Policy, and Society from Maastricht University’s Sustainability Institute, Lauren has cultivated a deep understanding of environmental challenges and their intersections with social and economic factors.

Eager to apply her background while continuing her studies, Lauren pursued an Advanced Master of International Development from Radboud University while contributing to iCRA. This comprehensive program broadened her perspective on the intricacies of the development sector, equipping her with a nuanced understanding of global issues and solutions.

Originally from the UK, Lauren has embraced the Netherlands as her home for the past six years. Her diverse background, including dual British-German nationality and immersive experiences at universities and iCRA, has fuelled her curiosity to engage with diverse cultures and perspectives. In her free time, she enjoys a good long run along Utrecht’s picturesque canals or curling up with a book.

Now in her second year with iCRA, Lauren adeptly juggles dual roles as a Communication Officer and Junior Expert. As a Communication Officer, she energizes the iCRA community, orchestrates seamless training sessions and events, and finds compelling ways to showcase iCRA’s impactful work. In her capacity as a Junior Expert, she provides invaluable support to projects and delivers training.
